Best music school in Houston. My daughter has been attending classes here for piano for the past 2 years. She’s grown tremendously. Her teacher, Mrs. Vivian is so patient and knows how to make learning piano fun. We’ve tried other music schools in the past and none compare. 100% recommend

I can’t express enough how amazing my experience has been at River Oaks Music School. The instructors here go above and beyond to ensure every student’s success, Ms. Hanna Hrybkova is an absolute gem. She’s been teaching my 7-year-old the fundamentals of music, particularly piano, with such patience and expertise that my child is truly blossoming. Ms. Hanna’s dedication and passion for teaching have made learning enjoyable and accessible for my little one. Thanks to her guidance, my child is not only learning to read and play the piano but is also developing a genuine love for music. I couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful environment and exceptional educators at this school. Highly recommend the school and Ms. Hanna to anyone seeking a good music experience for their child.

This is a great place!! Staff are kind and helpful! Teachers are talented and very enthusiastic about teaching music. My daughter has had a very positive experience with virtual Vivaldi sessions. Will definitely recommend this Academy to friends and family!!

Collin is an amazing teacher! I came to her all rusty with my piano skills and not being able to read any advanced piano symbols. She stepped me through the piece step by step, told me how to segment pieces and practice them, corrected my postures and techniques along the way, and gave me a new lens to view the sheets through. She is patient and active, constantly communicating with the students to schedule practices and pointing out mistakes in a constructive manner. She’s really experienced in teaching students that her personalized plan worked out extremely well for me! Within a short span of 2 months, I’m now able to play beautiful pieces that I once dreamt of.

Dr. Robert McDonald is truly a wonderful person. His personality and temperament are ideally suited to piano instruction. He has a clear love and a depth of knowledge for students of every caliber. For example; My son needed help. He was accepted at his first college of choice, but had to audition for piano and pass a music composition interview for admission into the school’s music program. My search led me to Mr. McDonald’s. My son loved his demo lesson and his instruction style best of those we interviewed. During his instruction; Mr. McDonald wrote tutorial notes covering different approaches, interpretations and techniques my son should consider, and how they affect the peace. This enhanced my son’s understanding of the music so he could play it better. Mr. McDonald interpreted composers’ notes, related theory, music history, composers’ profiles and styles, giving my son a wealth of information for his college admission interview. He nailed it!

I went to the store to compare instruments since I was looking to buy a piano. Will V. gave outstanding advice – he knew everything there is to know about every instrument and gave me plenty of time and space to try them out. He is a musician himself and I had a fantastic time chatting to him and I’m excited about my new piano!

Awesome school to supplement our daughter’s middle school saxophone learning experience in band. The teachers are the heart of the operation and are so good with the kids. Separate additional music theory workshops complement the instrument instruction. 5 stars!!
