I am very fortunate to have Ms. Li to be my piano teacher. She is a very talented, fabulous and patient teacher. I started learning piano when I was 17 years old. At the beginning I thought it will be hard for an adult to learn playing piano, but after her guidance, I made progress very fast and enjoy the time I spent with her during the piano class. When you are taking her class, you will not feel stressful and depressed at all, because she will give you everything she has and praise your progress enthusiastically.

Miss Huizi is a great artist and very patient piano teacher. My 8 years old daughter has been learning from her for a year. Miss Huizi is not only teaching her piano skill and music theory, but also opened her mind to what music can be. It’s fun and interesting. My daughter loves her teacher and I hope one day my daughter can play as good as her teacher 🙂

I’ve been taking piano lessons with Santiago for close to a year now. It’s always been a goal of mine to learn piano and Santiago has helped me finally achieve this goal. Santiago has setup lessons based around my specific background (a hodgepodge of some grade school orchestra + self taught beginner guitar) so that my lessons are at a level that are perfect for me. Outside of his teaching practices, I also appreciate the convenience of his studio location. I highly recommend taking lessons with Santiago.

My 14-year-old son had been taking lessons with Park Slope Music Lessons for 6 years. His teacher, Sean, is fantastic! My son looks forward to every lesson as Sean keeps him engaged with a range of different music. He is challenging my son further now but still keeps the lessons enjoyable and the practice manageable. We love hearing how far our son has come and enjoying the sounds of piano in our home. Our 8-year-old daughter has been taking lessons for 2 1/2 years. After watching Sean teach her brother for years, she was so excited to start. She began lessons remotely during Covid and with the Music Color Method, Sean was able to teach her at a great pace even through Zoom. She now takes in-person lessons and loves improving with Sean and learning new pieces. We are grateful the kids want to keep playing and that they look forward to lessons each week!

My 8 year old son always has an appreciation for the piano, and he has enrolled in the weekly 30 minute classes since October 2022. His teacher Brendon M. has been patient, nice and professional. The owner Darvin L. is also very passionate and cares about his students. His front staff Aiden, Reann and Anna are also very friendly and helpful. Within 1 year, my son went from music illiterate to playing songs with ease. He continues to show interest in the piano. The teacher has a nice approach and I make my son practice almost every day. Today we have a lot of distractions at home (e.g., Screen time). It is imperative we spend some time to gauge kid’s interest and encourage them to do something they like. I will definitely consider enrolling our younger son’s for future music lessons. I am so glad we found BRSOM.

I’ve been taking drum lessons with Colin since March of 2020. We started right before the pandemic and I have had the opportunity to experience both virtual and in-person sessions, so this review applies to both. Colin is a very talented musician who lives and breathes music and you can feel his love for music during the sessions, which helps because learning to play an instrument as an adult is challenging and you do need every bit of enthusiasm and encouragement. Colin is very detailed oriented. He watches every move carefully and provides thoughtful feedback on your technique. Moreover, he shares online material for reference (points out instructive YouTube videos as well as live shows that you can watch and take note of the technique of certain drummers). Lastly, Colin is very knowledgeable in the history of drumming and is always there if you have any questions regarding various musicians or sub-genres. He is a great teacher all around and I enjoy my weekly sessions immensely – can’t recommend him enough.

I was so lucky to find The Music Room! I was in search of a place to rent on a regular weekly basis that had some sound proofing so I could rehearse songs and record auditions. I only needed a few hours a week and I happened upon Spoke The Hub with The Music Room and immediately inquired. Alaina was so wonderful with the rental process and any necessary communication required throughout my time at the studio. She was very helpful in also breaking down what time slots suited my needs and how best to book the space. The rooms are perfectly equipped, basement-style with pianos, sound absorbing panels, music stand, etc. They are small but exactly what I needed to sing and make significant noise in. I would absolutely recommend The Music Room for anyone looking for a safe, affordable, and quiet space to teach private/small group music lessons or any self practice.

We love Musication! We started with our child attending camps, which we absolutely loved. And then began taking private piano lessons for 5 years. Eva is an amazing teacher, both nurturing and challenging, incredibly creative in her approach. Jeremy from Musication runs a wonderful program. They are flexible, communication is excellent, and they will work with you to find a good teacher-student match and accommodate schedule and other needs. You won’t find a better musical home for your family!
